*Shane is currently unable to accept any new students at this time*
Through private lessons, Shane will help you identify the process which will allow you to maximize the true potential of your voice. Together, you will work on things such as proper breath technique, placement of sound, body alignment, diction, and articulation. Shane will also help you to find repertoire that is appropriate to both your age and skill level. A trained actor as well as singer, Shane will also strive to help you achieve the best overall performance of a piece. Often times, truly connecting with a song will have a profound impact on your vocal production and expression. Shane's ultimate goal will be to help you sing in a manner that is sustainable, comfortable, and expressive.
Typically, lessons will run for 30 minutes. Depending on the student, you will spend the first half of the lesson working through vocal warm ups and exercises aimed at building your technique, and the second half will be devoted to applying those lessons to a piece of music. Also, especially with younger singers, a portion of the lesson may be dedicated to ear training and development.
Shane is happy to teach singers of all ages - from children (Age 10+) who are just developing an ear for music to grown adults who are looking to sharpen their skills or branch into a new hobby. Given his background, Shane takes a special interest in training singers interested in the musical theatre genre, and young singers that are interested in developing good habits!
